Via Edetana Carinyena old vine selection is a red wine produced by the Edetà ria winery in Gandesa, Terra Alta.
A wine that commemorates the Edetà ria winery’s 20th anniversary. It is a single varietal made from grapes coming exclusively from selected old Carinyena vines grown on “tapà s”, “tapà s blanc” (shallow soils with carbonated fragments), and “arcillas” soils.
Production:
Hand harvested with a first selection of grapes in the vineyard. Fermented at a controlled temperature of 25ºC for 15 days. Aged for 12 months in 500-litre French oak barrels, final blending before bottling, fallowed by a further 4 years in the bottle.
Tasting Notes:
Elegant nose of ripe black fruit, floral aromas, violets, and a touch of liquor and balsamic notes. A smooth, full-bodied, flavorsome wine with herbaceous notes of the Mediterranean forest. Ample and fluid, round and sweet tannins, long finish.
