Nothing says it’s a celebration like Champagne! Since the discovery of Méthode Champenoise, it’s grown to become the premier sparkling wine. The first thing you should know about Champagne is that the wine, by definition, must be made in the Champagne region of France.
The three main grapes are Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier, but we also carry wines that include the lesser known Champagne grapes: Arbanne, Pinot Blanc, Fromenteau, and Petit Meslier. Champagne is produced is a variety of styles and a number of sweetness levels, the exact style and sweetness level will vary by house, but the general dryness level is indicated on the label.
