The 2018 Pollak Durant Red is a lighter, fruit-forward expression of a Bordeaux-style blend from Virginia’s Monticello wine region (AVA). Made primarily from Cabernet Franc and Merlot, with a touch of Petit Verdot, the wine was fermented in stainless steel to enhance its fresh, approachable character. The 2018 vintage, in particular, offers plenty of juicy red berry flavor with softer tannins, drawing comparisons to a easy-drinking Côtes-du-Rhône. On the palate, you can expect lush notes of cherry, raspberry, and plum, complemented by a smooth and balanced finish that makes it a versatile table wine.
